The Programme
This program is unique in that it is kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) support, with professional Quit Coaches that develop a programme that is personalized to every individual smokers needs.
COST
There is no cost for our programme.
THE PROGRAMME INVOLVES:
Assessment - Coaches identify the client's readiness to quit, and give out information on programme.
Reduction plan 2 to 4 weeks - we help identify and give coping skills to smoking triggers and encourage cigarette reduction to become smoke-free.
Intensive programme 8 weeks - In this stage clients have actively become smoke-free. To help with nicotine urges we supply Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) patches and gum to make the smoke free transition easier, and with the support of a Quit Coach, at the 8th week clients should be able to maintain their smoke-free lifestyles.
3-6-9-12 month follow-ups - At each milestone follow up, this can be done over the phone or visiting one of the clinics our coaches are at. The follow-ups are just a catch up with clients, helping with relapses or just encouraging clients to keep up the good work.
ITS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE
To quit smoking clients will be making a lifestyle change. This is when the clients begin to assess themselves, as to how committed they are to giving up the cigarettes.
Most clients may feel consumed by the thought of not smoking. With our kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) counselling sessions your Quit Coach will help to support you through the smoke-free transition. You may even feel a physical withdrawal; this is when the Nicotine levels in your bodies are low. Our Coaches will help ease the nicotine urges and feelings by administering Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) patches and gum.
Even when clients have reached the 8th week on the Intensive programme and are actively smoke-free. Breaking the psychological behaviour that is associated with smoking will be ongoing. Our coaches' aim is to give you the skills to manage your behaviour with smoking.
